I am currently writing my next spy novel and am up to my
knees in backstabbing, intrigue, blatant lying, and human degradation. With all that in mind, it seemed a
natural segue to the Democrat party debate last night.
First of all, for a political party that claims to have the
lock on anything pertaining to youthful enthusiasm and forward thinking, the
only thing young and new on that stage last night was the level of confusion
among the candidate memories. Are
there any young Democrats out there or does the 1960s crowd (“Hey man, we’re gettin’
the band back together!”) not trust the socialist dedication of their youthful
minions?
If I were a true conspiracy advocate, I would vehemently
claim that the Clinton cabal orchestrated the list of candidates to oppose
Hillary so as to make her appear strongest for the presidency. But they
obviously went to far. Her opposition was more in tune with the small, stuffed,
circus clown-car with grinning, big-footed bozos spewing from every door. (Although
I’m regrettably reminded of Trump at this juncture, this is about Democrat
buffoons, not Republican ones.) In the midst of that crowd, Hillary just
appeared as the least blathering but hardly anything more than what she is; a
deceptive, poll-driven, political hack.
If there is any one person last night who was interesting,
it was Jim Webb, the former Reagan appointee, US Marine, and senator. He was
totally out of place on the stage. His ideas did not mesh with the other
candidates nor did he max out the applause meter from the crowd. He is a Democrat from the era of JFK before all of the special interest political and
entitlement adherents took over the party. We should all look closely and study
him carefully. We may never see another one on a Democrat stage.
