I seldom write specifically about politics although my
musings may seem to reflect a political viewpoint. That viewpoint is however,
not so much political but rather a view from a common sense and historical
perspective and simply points a finger toward incompetence.
But this is politics, so read it with your most jaundiced
eye. It appears that Jeb Bush is laying the groundwork to declare his intent to
seek the Republican nomination for president in 2016. I hope none of you are
caught flat-footed by his twitter-announced thunderclap. His announcement is
akin to shouting out your window that skunks have a peculiar smell. By no means
do I equate Mr. Bush with a skunk, but I would like a show of hands to see who
harbored doubts as to his intentions.
I have also heard talk that Hillary Clinton is considering another run.
National Review
has four separate articles regarding this topic (here) and most of their
concerns are mine as well. Ragtag nations throughout the world such as North
Korea, The Philippines, Cuba, and any number of Middle Eastern monarchies tend
to keep national leadership within the family, and it seems that our political
leadership in both parties is prone to trot out the usual suspects for
election. If Hillary and Jeb are the only two people this country of 300
million can scrape up to lead, then we have a real problem.
