Vladimir Putin appears to have won the Russian presidency
again by almost 68% of the Russian voters. Golos, a Western-funded vote monitoring group gives their
opinion on the severity of the voter fraud (here) and how the fraud is rather
open and transparent in its’ commission.
I think it is interesting and disturbing as to how our
current and last President seemed to insist that they had a warm and close
relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. George Bush called him
“Puti” and stated that he could “talk to the man.” I guess that either meant he
knew him as he really was or that he just liked him. I would hope it was the
former. With Barack Obama, the “I will have more flexibility after the
election,” comment made to Putin while the cameras and microphones were still
on also adds a concern. What does Putin want the United States to be more
flexible about? Iran, Israel, nuclear disarmament, or possibly something else?
I would think Vladimir Putin might not be the first person you
should offer your trust. After
all, he was raised within the KGB, which was not an organization that promoted
dissent from communist doctrine if I remember correctly. Some articles on the political dominance of
Putin are (here) and (here). I doubt there is anything Putin can do for us that
would be in the best interest of the United States.
