A couple of anecdotes come to
mind as I watch the news regarding the mess down on the Texas border. Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean
someone isn’t out to get you, and where
there’s smoke, there has to be some fire.
What this boils down to is
that all of these Central American children didn’t just show up on the border
by happenstance. Someone and something had to get them up here. My logical mind
tells me that President Obama did not utter the command to some of his minions
to effect the arrival, but my gut tells me this is what he wanted to happen and
his minions knew it. Follow the money, or in this case the power. No matter how
much the Republicans believe they can convince Hispanic voters to vote in their
favor, there are no poles that indicate that will happen. It hasn’t happened in
the past. The end result of the Reagan amnesty program ripped California from
the Republican fold into the Democrat basket and it has not swayed since.
Don’t think for a minute that
the Democrats and Obama fail to see the opportunity here. The children come in
and the Obama Administration plasters the airwaves with tales (some of them
true) about the horrific childhood they live and the apparent lack of
opportunity available. Then comes the cry to reunite these children with their
families and of course, the cry for amnesty quickly follows because after all,
this is a crisis.
All of this is happening
because President Obama cannot get what he wants legally. With the Affordable
Care Act, he simply wiped his feet on the Constitution but here, he overwhelms
the very system that he is by law, supposed to oversee. Once the illegal
immigrant invaders are here, they come under the protection of the pieces of
our law that he chooses to enforce.
“America cannot wait forever for them
(Congress) to act,” Obama said. He said he’s launching a new effort to “fix as
much of our immigration system as I can, on my own, without Congress.” (Full article here)
And now this little excerpt from The Marshall Center (here):
Furthermore,
the technology fielded by asymmetrically advantaged military forces has
increasingly rendered defensive systems ineffective, while the “CNN effect”
generated by images of civilian casualties has enhanced the effectiveness of
shields in precluding attack, particularly given adoption of lawfare strategies
by weaker parties. (129)
And now this final
quote from Marshall Georgy Zhukov of the former Soviet Army to General
Eisenhower in 1945:
“If we come to a minefield, our infantry attacks
exactly as it were not there.”
Of course what Zhukov
failed to mention is that the attack would be lead by penal battalions to
absorb the fatalities of the implanted mines. Human shields as it were. Hamas currently uses human shields to
safeguard their military targets from Israeli attack in Gaza. If the Israelis
don’t attack, they safeguard their munitions and if Israel does attack they
display the civilian casualties and it becomes a win-win for the terrorists. They
will sacrifice anyone to win.
Obama is a
terrible Commander-in-Chief, and his overall ineptness in foreign affairs will
be the embarrassment of the United States for years to come. But when it comes
to politically knowing what the goal is and letting nothing stop him from
attaining it, Obama is a master. Of course some of these kids on the border may
die or never reunite with their families but that is just the price for
victory, another obstacle to overcome, another human shield to achieve Obama’s
result.
As bad as these actions are, it can get worse. What if this type of behavior becomes the standard in politics? Do Democrats lie awake at night dreading the day when a Republican retakes the Oval Office? Do they secretly hope that the new Republican president will behave in a more moral manner than they did? Most Americans are optimistic with regard to the future. If thrown into a room full of horse manure up to their chin, they smile; there has to be a pony in there somewhere. It's time to locate that pony.
